CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

A.      Background
Age of globalization influence on human life both positively influences such as providing an ease in touch is through the means of communication, as well as the negative impact such as the number of young people who fall into promiscuity and use of illicit drugs as well as drugs. Drug abuse is often done just to run away from problems. Therefore, to avoid drug abuse we as the younger generation is expected to be more careful accept new things.
Drugs terms are familiar in the ears of Indonesian society in particular and even the world community at large. Drug name skyrocketed among us because these objects are objects that can help those who are having problems in their life, according to those drugs is the hero in his life. Adolescence is a transition period, during which time such instability is often the case both emotionally and psychologically. At this transitional period also teenagers are seeking identity as a teenager. But too often in this adolescent search for identity tends to go wrong in associating so much doing things that deviate from the norms prevailing in society. Such as fights and drinking, theft, robbery, vandalism / arson, free sex and even drugs. The juvenile deviant behavior can be described as delinquency.
Among adolescents, is very much a case of drug abuse. The survey results prove that they are at risk of falling prey to the drug problem is a child born of a family that has a history of domestic violence, raised from families broken home or have a divorce, are stressed or depressed, have private unstable or easily influenced, feel does not have a friend or wrong in the association. By reason was the need to equip for the parents so that they can participate prevent abuse involved teenage children today start worrying. Teenagers who are supposed to be cadres of the nation's future now can no longer be guaranteed for the advancement of the Nation. 

B.      Purpose
This paper aims to broaden the public about the dangers of drug use and how it impacts the future of children.
C.       Benefit
This paper is expected to provide benefits for the reader to understand the dangers of drugs and drug effect for the future.


CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION

A.      Definition
Drugs are the abbreviation of narcotics, psychotropic and other addictive materials. Drug familiar terminology used by law enforcement officials, such as police (including the National Narcotics Agency), prosecutors, judges and correctional officers. In addition to drugs, another term that refers to all three of these substances are drugs that of narcotics, psychotropic and addictive substances. The term drug more commonly used by healthcare practitioners and rehabilitation. But in essence the meaning of both terms still refer to the three types of the same substance.
According to Law 22 of 1997 on Narcotics Narcotics are narcotics mentioned sense are "substances or drugs derived from plant or not plant either synthetic or semi-synthetic that can cause degradation or alteration of consciousness, loss of taste, reduce to eliminate pain, and can creating dependency". Psychotropic is "a substance or drug, either natural or synthetic non-narcotic, which is efficacious psychoactive through selective effect on the central nervous system that causes typical changes in mental activity and behavior".
Other addictive substances are "substances or other materials instead of narcotics and psychotropic substances that affect the brain and can lead to dependence" Nonetheless, it is important note that not all types of narcotics and psychotropic use is prohibited. Because quite a lot of narcotics and psychotropic also has great benefits in the field of medicine and for the benefit of the development of knowledge. According to Law 22 of 1997 and Law No. 5 of 1997, narcotics and psychotropic substances are included in Group I is a type of substance that is considered illegal. As a result of the illegalnya status, anyone who has, manufacture, use, distribute and / or distribute narcotics and psychotropic Category I maybe imposed in accordance with the provisions of the criminal law apply.

B.   Various types of drugs
      1.      Opium
              Papaver somniferum plant sap obtained by tapping (scraping) who want ripe fruit. The sap that comes out white and named "lates". The sap is allowed to dry on the surface of the fruit that is brown-black-and post-processing will be a soft dough that resembles asphalt. This is called raw opium or opium rough. Opium contains an assortment of rugged active substances are often misused. Opium cook brown color is dark brown or blackish. Traded in packaging tin box with assorted stamp, among other snakes, skulls, eagle, globe, cap 999, cap dog, etc.. Its use by means of sucked.

       2.      Morphine
               Morphine is produced from opium / opiate raw. main alkaloid morphine from opium (C17H19NO3). Morphine tastes bitter, a fine white powder form or in the form of a colorless liquid. Its use by means of smoked and injected.

      3.      Heroin (heroin)
Heroin had a power of two times stronger than morphine and is the type most commonly abused opiate people in Indonesia at the end - this end. Heroin, which is pharmacologically. Similar to morphine causes people to become sleepy and erratic mood swings. Although the manufacture, sale and possession of heroin is illegal, but the attempted heroin remains available for patients with terminal cancer as analgesic and euphoric effects it good.

      4.      Morphine
Codeine including salt / derivative of opium / opium. Codeine effects are weaker than heroin, and its potential to cause low ketergantungaan. Usually sold in pill form or liquid clear. How to use ingested and injected.

      5.      Demerol
                Another name of Demerol is pethidina. Its use can be swallowed or by injection. Demerol is sold in a pill form and colorless liquid.

      6.      Methadone
Currently many digunakanorang Methadone in the treatment of opioid dependence. Opioid antagonists have been made to treat opioid overdose and opioid dependence. A large number of synthetic narcotics (opioids) have been made, including meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolphine), pentazocine (Talwin), and propocyphene (Darvon). Methadone is currently widely used in the treatment of opioid dependence. Opioid antagonists have been made to treat opioid overdose and opioid dependence. The drug class is nalaxone (Narcan), naltrxone (Trexan), nalorphine, levalorphane, and apomorphine. A number of compounds with activity mix of agonists and antagonists have been synthesized, and the compounds are pentazocine, butorphanol (Stadol), and buprenorphine (Buprenex). Several studies have found that buprenorphine is an effective treatment for opioid dependence. Name popoler types of opioids: putauw, etep, PT, white.

            C. Factors that Encourage of drugs use
Motivation in substance abuse and drug-related motivational concerns turned out to individual circumstances (individual motivation) is about the physical, emotional, intellectual and mental-interpersonal.
In addition to the individual motivations that lead to an action of substance abuse, there are other factors that have a close relationship with substance abuse condition that sociocultural factors such as the following, and this is a deep pressed mood in adolescents; among others:

  • Divide the family unit eg divorce, the family moved, parents no / rarely at home and so on.
  • The influence of mass media such as advertisements on drugs and substances.
  • Rapid technological change.
  • Escape values and religious systems as well as the melting of moral standards; (this means the need coaching character - Akhlaq) 
  • Imbalance economic circumstances such as poverty, economic disparity ethno racial, luxury boring and so on.

D. Immediate and long-term effects of drug use

If you are taking drugs, it is possible you believe that you can manage the effects of the drugs and that you can deal with the impact it has on your life. Taking drugs might make you feel good, and there may not even appear to be any immediate consequences to taking the drug. Sometimes some of these impacts might appear over time and as circumstances in your life or your use of drugs changes. It may be useful to stop and re-examine the impact of your drug use on your life now and see whether the negatives are outweighing the positives. You may find it useful to go through the list of possible life impacts below as a prompt. It may also be helpful to talk with someone you trust, for example, a friend, counsellor or family member.

Your relationships – are you finding that there has been any negative change in your relationships? When drug use is an ongoing problem, conflict between friends and partners, and family breakdown can be more common.
Safety – do you ever find yourself in situations where you do not feel entirely in control of your actions? Being under the influence of drugs could put you at risk of being in danger in certain circumstances. Buying drugs or trying to get the money to buy them can also put you at risk of harm.
School / TAFE / university – do you feel you are managing your study commitments? You might not immediately notice the impact that your lifestyle is having on your study. Keeping up with your assignments and concentrating in class are two examples of how your study can be affected by drug use.
Employment – have you or a friend lost a job recently as a result of not being able to do your job because you were drug-affected? The after effects of using drugs (coming down or feeling scattered) can reduce your ability to work in a job, they often place you in danger of hurting yourself or others at work, and can reduce your job prospects too.
Financial pressures – have you found yourself struggling to pay bills or buy necessities because you have spent your pay or allowance on drugs? Have you ever thought about just how much you would save if you didn't use drugs?
Violence – have you done something you would not normally do when not taking drugs? Some drugs, like amphetamines, can increase the likelihood of acting in a violent way, or being the victim of violence.
Homelessness – have your parents threatened to kick you out of home, or are you finding it hard to pay your rent? If you are spending your money on drugs you might find that there is not much money left for living (paying rent, buying food, or having the money to see a doctor or buy medicine when you get sick).
Stress – feeling stressed instead of relaxed after taking drugs? You might think that using certain drugs will help you relax and forget about the things that are causing you stress. However, changing the way the body and mind work with drugs is a stress in itself, and you could experience tension, anxiety, paranoia and other symptoms which only increase the feelings of stress.
Depression – have you ever felt depressed after taking drugs, or felt that taking drugs worsens existing depression? Feeling low after using some drugs is common (including alcohol). This can be due to the effect of the drug itself or because of things that happened when you were using them.
Injuries and accidents – ever had an accident after taking drugs? When you are under the influence of drugs you might find yourself doing things that you would not normally do, which can increase your chance of getting hurt or having an accident.
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) or unwanted pregnancy – ever forgotten to use a condom when you were under the influence of drugs? Under the influence you are less likely to remember to use protection which can result in you or the person you have sex with contracting an STI or getting pregnant.
Risk of infectious disease – have you considered the risk of disease through drug paraphernalia? Sharing needles is a major risk for getting diseases like hepatitis B or C, or HIV, which are all spread through blood-to-blood transmission.

CLOSING

A.      Conclusion
Drugs can appear initially to have positive effects – lifting your mood, relaxing you or even giving you more energy. However, they can also have negative impacts on your mental and physical health, your relationships, and your life in general. Drugs are very dangerous goods and can damage the nervous system that can change a person's personality becomes progressively worse. without you knowing drugs will destroy your future.
B.       Suggestion
Finally the paper entitled drug effects for adolescents has been completed and hopefully this short paper such bias benefit us all that well for the General Student so they can understand about the dangers of drugs are biting our moral bias and as the younger generation.
